And as for thatcher,, she lasted 10 yr so i think she was doing something right,,

If not for her you'd still be the owner of the communications system you're using right now. She stole it from you and gave it to her cronies. I could go on all day.

Seems to me OBL spoke pretty plainly when he said our foreign policy is the reason for the attacks. I, for one, vote for new policies. This country fell for Bush's claims, ie:

"Saddam sponsered the terrorists"

"Saddam has WMD"

"I saw a threat there"

"he's a very bad man who tried to kill my daddy"

That last one is true, but hardly a reason to occupy a country.

The countries that felt they couldn't afford to cross us followed right along. Allies by necessity. The rest of the world said "WTH are you thinking?"

WTH were we thinking?

The policies he is talking about pre-date Bush.

you can kill terrorists all day in Iraq but if the governments of the west dont change you will be there for all eternity.

our government doesnt have to change, some policies do in fact have to change hand in hand with the middle east governments.

How odd. The "Official Ballot"  which of course is defined by state and ranges from 2 to over 12 it seems. Not 7. 2004 Presidential Candidates

PERSONAL CHOICE PARTY:

Charles Jay (Indiana)

Presidential Nominee

Marilyn Chambers Taylor (California) :woot::woot::woot:

Vice Presidential Nominee

Adult movie star Marilyn Chambers -- a former Ivory Soap model before she turned to porn in the mid-1970s -- is the Personal Choice candidate for Vice President. She made her name starring in such X-rated 1970s and 1980s classics as Behind the Green Door and Insatiable. In the late 1990s, Chambers made a successful return to porn, and she continues to appear in porn flicks today (making her one of the oldest stars to regularly appear these days in mainstream porn). During the period in which she left porn (before her return to the industry), Chambers owned and operated a gun shop. This 2004 VP run is Chambers' first foray into politics. Marilyn Chambers Taylor is her married name.

Hmmm... average 2 and 12 and you get.......7! ;)

Why argue over it....

Your REAL allies:

Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary

I know I am afraid  ;)  Canada could take out any of those nations without even blinking

By the way your REAL allies went to fight real terrorists in Afghanistan, not the ones that Bush is fighting in his head.

yeah, Great Britain, Australia, Italy, Japan, and South Korea are pretty wimpy too, eh? Edited by The1PatO

Why even bother talking about who of the US allies Canada could or couldn't take? What is the point?

I think that really demonstrates the level of thought going into this.

not too sure about S Korea and Japan .....but the other 3 governments are in some difficulty over the support ....

...........................................................................................

I'm being very mellow and polite tonight ......

cause I now think that thinking in any depth over politics is bad for my blood pressure .....

I also think that it doesn't matter anymore who gets in the oval office it'll still be the same boys in the back room calling the shots to a greater or lesser degree of visibility for the US foreign policy ......

So I just hope that whoever does get in ...does a better job for you US citizens on the domestic front ......

 Well it's not too hard with a front man like dubya  You have to know (hopefully) that he ain't calling to many of the shots.

Seriously , is there any way the Republicans can replace him.

Just thinking about that , I wonder just how much George Bushs personality hurts the Republicans chances of being re-elected ?

I have yet to see any in-depth debate on this forum about the two respective parties , only ....

Bush this and Kerry that .....blah , blah, blah

I just hope that this isn't a microcosm of the American mindset.

I haven't seen such a debate anywhere.

As far as the mindset, it isn't limited by national borders.

Oh I hear that , it's just that the amount of power that the U.S. wields in the world makes it doubly important to see through it.

Oh I hear that , it's just that the amount of power that the U.S. wields in the world makes it doubly important to see through it.

There lies the problem.

It isn't that we have done such a terrible job with our place in the world, I would say above average compared to a great deal of the world, it's just that there is a microscope on us. In addition, people seem to expect more and better from us, even more than the expect from themselves or their own countries.

I submit that the "power" of the US in the world only exists because the world has put us there.

We have great economic power, but there are more powerful nations and others with better economies, especially now that China is in the fray. We have great military power, but we are not conquorors. We don't have the best education, nor the best standard of living.

So why are we in the spotlight?

Because the sum total of the qualities listed above and more are the strongest combination the world has yet to offer for a nation, system of government, and way of life.

Why do I say that? Because the world says it, otherwise we wouldn't be the ones in the spotlight.

The world expects more from us, more than they even expect from themselves. Try living under that for a while.

I submit that if the world gives less importance to our presidential election, takes the microscope off of us, and stops feeding the idea of the importance of the US, they will end up with a more realistic world view, be less dependent on thw moves of the US, and regain some of their own importance in the world while decreasing that of the US.

Of course I know this won't happen, we are stuck with the role.

New Osama Bin Laden Tape

I see it as the only means that the piece of defication could invoke any type of attack on the U.S.

The coward would have attacked us if he could. A video tape is the best that he's got. The U.S. military and our courageous Allies are winning this war against these cave rats.

The majority of those on the front lines, scraping this poo from the underside of their boots, are voting to keep GWB as their Commander and Chief. I for one am gonna support our troups by doing my best to give them their choice with my vote. :) Y

there will be a downturn

just a question of time

Just a question of how you progress and deal with it ......
