Backweb Lite

Recommended Posts

I downloaded Kodak Easyshare in order to have some online photo printing done. I then noticed that there was a heavy drain on my RAM (I run Freeram XP) so ran a Spybot check. Sixty, yes 60, BackWeb items in my registry. Needless to say, I got rid of them. No longer have to keep freeing up RAM every 2 minutes :)

So much for Kodak's friendly image.

Had the same stuff d0nut.....now why would Kodak need to update anything on your computer or call home without your approval? :shifty:

I agree with you both, Kodak has no business calling anywhere without your approval. That said though, d0nut, are you sure you are using the latest Spybot S&D? I ask this because Spybot S&D has stopped looking for backweb about 6 months ago. It just strikes me as odd that Spybot found something it doesn't check for.

Thanks for the info, Ronbo. I was running version 1.2. After upgrading, Spybot found another half-dozen spyware items :woot:

Jacee. I finished up with Gator the last time I installed Easyshare.

Thanks for the input and help.
