For some AVI files, a window appears: "Cannot play back video stream; no suitable decompressor could be found. Then asking if proper "codec" is installed? Any links for that? PC has 98se and IE6.

....also I have taken the Pitstop Download and Upload tests several times. My Download is always in low 30's KB, and Upload is 54 KB. My ISP provider says that is impossible! I have 56K modem. Shouldnt download be at least in the 50's?

Hi shotrock,

This may shed some light on codecs:

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/c/codec.html

I run a 56K modem (Unitil next Tue.) & my test today was 42Kbits/sec down & 55Kbits/sec up. My connection speed is 50.6K.

Hope this helps some.

Install that and your problems will be gone. As for your download speed, it's pretty tough to accurately measure a dialup connection, but you can try one at http://www.cnet.com just to get a better idea.
