compaq cq5110f help

Recommended Posts

I picked up a compaq cq5110f for cheap . They said it wouldnt turn on.

When i got it home i plugged it in and it booted right up.

When i tried to turn it on the next ay it wouldnt turn on.

I disconnected the power cord and held the power button in till the green light

on the back turned off.

After plugging the power cord back in , it turned on and booted up normally.

Does anyone know what the problem might be ?

My guess off the top of my head would be a faulty power supply and/or leaking or bulging capacitors on the motherboard.

Inspect the capacitors that are around the CPU especially.

Thanks Y Kawika

I checked the capacitors and they looked ok.

While i had the side off i checked the connections

on the motherboard to make sure they was all making a good connection.

It has been turning on with no problems since.

Thanks again
