Netgear Router

Recommended Posts

Hi guys it sounds silly and I really should know but I don't. I have a Netgear Router supplied by my internet/cable company. It shows 2 different access points, one is a 5g connection and the other is a 2.4g connection. Is that normal?

I went into change my password for WIFI and noticed it.

Don't think it matters with this but I have Windows 10 home.

Thank you for the article, it answered every question I had :yup:

My son plays online gaming on the computer and PS4 and occasionally he runs into dropped connections or a problem with NAT 1, NAT 2 causing him to not hear or be heard thru the connected headset. Any suggestions? From what I read it wouldn't help to connect ether to 5g because he's using the ethernet cable. Should I start another topic? Thank you for any help and ideas

If he's on a wired connection he shouldn't (in theory) get drop outs; unless your actual internet in dropping.

Might be worth removing it from the LAN network and connecting it to the WiFi and see if the problem persists.
