Commercial

Recommended Posts

I just watched the latest commercial and wondered why do they try to make people paranoid about antivirus software made in another country where they say threats are created? Just because Symantec and Kaspersky are located in another country, is that supposed to mean that the terrorists and hackers are running the companies and creating viruses? Hmm.

F-Prot originated in Iceland in the 80's and I don't think there are terrorists there then or now.

I am an IT specialist and I have yet to see anything such as a registry cleaner or unneeded file remover that doesn't do more harm than good by removing needed registry entries and program files and thus causing crashes.

And as far as their pricing, I don't have 5 computers so it's not $10- it would be $50 for 1 computer for me.

Anyway, I found the commercial misleading and therefore does not create trust in this company for me.

If I get kicked of the forums for not saying positive things about PC Matic, so be it.

How dare u get all terrorist up in our forums. We've got homeland security and special gulag for you. No, they have to hype the threat to move the units. I have only respect for the key players up here at PCPitStop, but there are market forces. You can't promote Linux as superior if you need to make bank from uneducated Windows people. The site is what it is, and there's no "making people paranoid" about Windows. It's a bad hacker's wet dream, and anything the Pit does to protect people should be hailed. The highest hail! I've gotten the greatest help from ppl in here about issues, so don't judge - but understand that the bread has to be buttered where it gets buttered best, and that's from Windows. Faulty crap OS that goes out with bugs galore. Needs third-party protective apps. Come to Tux the Penguin, he is your friend.

No need to be concerned about that. This isn't "that kind" of place. Speaking your mind is encouraged ... as long as it is done appropriately. The PCPitstop is here to provide help and exchange ideas. While it also provides access to the PCMatic staff... this isn't a "fanboy" site.

You've already met KurtBleach. He admits to being a fan of exactly 3 things:

  1. Linux
  2. Kurt Cobain
  3. Eric Blair (also known as George Orwell or John Freeman)

However, deep down, we all know he just wants to be like me.
