Java error's after updating

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I need help with Java. My computer updated a week ago and when it did I could not play games on three sites. Plus when I went to the Java site to see if I had Java on my computer the test page gave me this message. How to test whether Java is working on my computer I get this. test java2_1test vmapplet.class Class not found exception.I get this message on two of the game sites I go to as well as the java page. On one game site I get this message Class not found exception com.masque.video poker.video poker applet. I have gone round and round on the Java web site trying to find a fix for this problem and found none. Plus there is no help unless you can find your problem on their site. I can call them for a fifty dollar charge to speak to their support people but why should I.

Is there any other system / program that will do the same thing Java does so I can get rid of it. I have taken the Java out three times and reinstalled it but nothing changes. Also I don't get the control panal either so I can't do any thing.

I hope some one can help me with this problem because I don't know what to do. Thank you for your time, will be waiting and hoping to hear from some one with an answer to this problem. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Consider using System Restore to revert to the previous Java version, or removing the most recent Java installation. In either case, turn of the automatic update feature.

Thank you for answering my letter. I have removed the Java three times and reinstalled it. I also put in an older version but I was told by Java to remove it and update to the newer versin. I also messed around with it and ended up trying to test my system again and got a new error message General exception Name JRE verify Class not found exception:JRE verify.class. Restore to an earlier date didn't help either.

hello

have you tryed Javara to remove old versions of java

http://sourceforge.net/projects/javara/

Download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder

Run JavaRa.exe (if a Vista user Right click on JavaRa.exe, click Run As Administrator) i'm not sure it runs on win 7

Then click Remove Older Versions and follow the prompts

Then, go here: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Download the offline version and try to install it again

javara do's not install so to remove just delete the folder

also i would guess running AV and Antimalware scans to be sure no virus is on your pc could help

and not knowing the version of windows and version of java do's not help

:)

Thank's techexpress I tried what you recomended but It didn't work. But while on the Java site as well as some of the game sites that don't work I'm getting a report in the Java console. I click on the button to copy it but nothing happens. If its being copied I don't know where it is being kept. After removing and reinstalling Java I now have the following installed.

Java ( TM) 7 Update 5- 64 bit Java update 5 Java FX 2.1.1 and still getting nowhere. I do appreciate everyone's help. Thank you. :blank: :blank: :blank: :blank: :blank:

Once again I removed Java and installed a versio from last August. Now I can't get the control panal and Pogo says I need to install Java plug-in. If I do this it will install the new versio which I had before. So I'm at a loss as to what to do. I want to try more game sittes but am afraid it will be the same as now.

I'm still getting no where. I tried to remove the items you listed but was told windows could not find several of them and one I wasn't authorized to. I went in to downloads and removed what I found there. I found some thing else that has java in it but can't remove it. I get the message need permisson of trusted installer. I have no idea what this is or where its at. Thank you for all your help. lee

hello

so this is a vista 64 or win 7 64 bit computer ? you have not said yet

when you install java are you trying to run the offline download or online install ?

are you the administrator ?

if you are the administrator did you try to download the offline download to your desktop and then

right click the download of it and choose run as administrator?

at the java console when it asked to clear copy close pick copy then open notepad and right click in it

and choose paste it should copy it there

now you can copy and paste it in a reply here

also when you uninstall java is it from the add and remove in the windows control panel because before

deleting any java folders you need to uninstall java first from the add/remove in the control panel

when unstalling java it leaves some folders behind so i was thinking thay could interfear with the new install

I downloaded the off line but not as administrator. Sorry I didn't say, its a windows 7 64 bit system. I'm not the administrator for this program for the most part I don't use administrator except for spybot search & destroy. I've been using the add / remove program to remove it. After it runs I go in and look for all files and downloads and remove what ever I find. After doing that I double check but usually don't find any thing else. Thank you for the information about note pad I will try it to see if I can copy it and included it in the message to everyone. Have a great weekend. lee

:surrender: :surrender: :surrender:I want to thank you for your help with this problem. But I give up trying to fix it. I did a complete recovery of my computer and reinstalled Java again. The problem is still there. I tried again to find the files you said I should remove but again windows said it could not find them. I've come to the conclusion there is a problem with the Java program and as I can't get help from them I'll have to live with my computer as itis. Again thank all of you for your help. Have a great wek. lee

hello

if you restored your pc back to factory original settings and the java that came with the pc worked then

something is stopping the install of a new version of java like

your antivirus,your firewall.your antispyware programs

you say you use Spybot search & destroy if you are using the tea timer with spybot it could be that try

turning it off when you install java

also when right clicking the installer and running it as administrator it's just the installer that runs

as administrator not the java program after install

some programs need to install with administrator rights to install properly or could have problems installing

also if your using internet explorer as your web browser it's more than likely the 32 bit one that you use and

not 64 bit even though you have both on your pc and most people use the 32 bit one as not all plug in's work

in the 64 bit version

you should try installing the 32 bit version of java as you can have both versions of java on the pc at the sametime

and see if that helps

and when you go to pogo or the java website thay alwise try to give you the newest version of java even though you

allready have it installed like

when i go to pogo or java i get a pop down that says

(this website wants to run the following add-on javase runtine emvironment 7 update 5 from 'Oracle America.Inc'.

if you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here)

but i already have java 7 update 5

so i just click the X and close it i understand thay want you to have the newest version of java but it is confusing

i hope some of this helps because keeping a old version of java on your pc is not good because of securty resions

also i hope someone else here has more ideas that could help

:)

hello

if you restored your pc back to factory original settings and the java that came with the pc worked then

something is stopping the install of a new version of java like

your antivirus,your firewall.your antispyware programs

you say you use Spybot search & destroy if you are using the tea timer with spybot it could be that try

turning it off when you install java

also when right clicking the installer and running it as administrator it's just the installer that runs

as administrator not the java program after install

some programs need to install with administrator rights to install properly or could have problems installing

also if your using internet explorer as your web browser it's more than likely the 32 bit one that you use and

not 64 bit even though you have both on your pc and most people use the 32 bit one as not all plug in's work

in the 64 bit version

you should try installing the 32 bit version of java as you can have both versions of java on the pc at the sametime

and see if that helps

I did do a complete recovery but the java program is not included in the software from HP or Microsoft. I have to install it my self. I just go to the java web site and download from there of cnet web site. But when I go to java site I find the off line downlad only. Its always been the 64 bit as far as I know. I installed spybot after installing java. As for firewall and anti virus I use zonealarm firewall and AVG for the anti virus. I've been using them for years and never had a proble installing programs before. I don't use explorer as my browser I don't like it or trust it. I will try your suggestion and install the 32 bit java as well and see what happens. Thank you again for your help. lee

I went to the java web site and downloaded the offline 32 bit system but it still doesn't work. I went to the verify installation page then it switched to the How to test whether java is working on my compute pager. Then I got the message test java2_1testvmapplet.class. So It doesn't look like java is ever going to run right on this computer. Thanks again for the help. lee

hello

the only thing i can get out of that is the "Loading Java Applet Failed" the rest i don't understand

and the Loading Java Applet Failed leads to the firewall blocking java be it a software firewall or

hardware firewall or something to do with a Virtual private network or IPv6

for the software firewall try turning off zonealarm and use the windows 7 firewall and see if it works

for the hardware firewall that would be a router or some modems that have a firewall built in them so it could

be a setting in one or both

if you have a router you could try to go straght to the modem with a Ethernet Cable to see if it's a

setting in the router but if it's a firewall in the modem then you might need to change a setting in the

modem

about the Virtual private network do you use one because i'm not sure what to do about that

info about a VPN

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_private_network

i beleve IPv6 is turned on in windows 7 if i remember right and some said in my search for help on java

for you that thay turned it off and then java worked but your ISP could be using IPv6 now so i'm not sure

about that also

info on IPv6

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6

i wish i could help more and it seems like java is installing for you but something is blocking it

you could look here and if something helps also

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java

http://javatester.org/index.htm
