Ipv4 Is Done.

Recommended Posts

If you have been disabling IPv6 for whatever reason, you might want to re-enable it. The last IPv4 address blocks were allocated. That means any "new" IP addresses that will be used from this day forward will be IPv6 address blocks.

The last blocks that were/will be allocated will be used for the IPv6 transition. The two standards are not compatible with other, so both IPv4 and IPv6 will have to be enabled.

ISP's, Hosting companies, web site owners, will all need to make sure their services will be capable of using both standards. Might be a bumpy road for some :P
