Hey dont feel bad At the moment im sharing 1.5 MB with 3 computers

And thats all i got 1.5MB......

So 3 computers thats about 512kbps

If i upgrade or increase ill get 2.0 MBS

at the cost of $179.00 a month

Right now Im paying $149.00 a month

Before i was on dial-up getting 28.8 kbps on a good day

But im in the bush 42 kilometers and internet access is better than nothing

Yeah. I feel you. I should have mentioned since I amthe farthest house from the dslam, I see connection speed of about 1.5-1.7. I thought I was getting milked at 53.99$ a month, but damn!!

Luckily, I am usually the only computer in the house, unless my dad is in town, or the girlfriend is over (the latter being very common).

But if I even have one other person on my connection it causes my ping to

go up substantially, making gaming impossible.

...or the girlfriend is over (the ladder being very common).

tried that once myself....woke the wife up with all the noise we made. :rollingpin:

Posted Image]Speed test[/url]

Heres mine,

Just moved from Orange to TalkTalk and doubled my speed, strange when they were both 8meg packages.

Talktalk are promising 20 meg in my area by end of April with a free upgrade!!

All these numbers are great. Now if there were only some sites where the speed could be put to use.

I haven't found many sites where downloads even approach the over inflated numbers we all get.

Mine are all in kbps :( ... just a little faster than dial-up

Well you could always compare your speeds with the amount of time it takes a beetle to eat a leaf on one of the flowers in your garden. ;)

Film it, it would make for a great remember when film!

OK look at it this way jaceee, k comes before m, therefore kbps must be better them mb/s.

kpbs also has more letters in it then mb/s does so you are obviously getting more for your dollar then we are. :geezer:

one kilobit per second (Kbps) equals 1000 bits per second (bps).

one megabit per second (Mbps) equals 1000 Kbps or one million bps.

one gigabit per second (Gbps) equals 1000 Mbps or one million Kbps or one billion bps.
