bad image and win32.zafi.b fake scan issues on win xp

Recommended Posts

i recently have had bad image issues pop up almost every time i click on something. also a few different pop ups. one keeps asking me to buy 2009defender because win32.zafi.b was found on my computer. i searched on Google for "win32.zafi.b" and from what i gathered its a scam. the other tells me to restart my PC because a "rootkit.win32.TDSS.dbg " virus was found and my security(im currently running Verizon internet security suite powered by radial point. it includes anti virus/anti spy ware) i previously had Nortonand after that windows liveone care . When i restart my computer nothing happens and the error messages/pop ups occur as usual. i have scanned over and over and nothing comes up. i downloaded a malware scanner/removal tool form Microsoft and still nothing shows up. here is my HJT log

Hi foreverking,

We need a bit more comprehensive look at things. Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.

  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
Please include the contents of both logs in your next reply. The scan will instruct you to post the attach log as an attachment. No need for that though ..... just post it as you would any other log.
