"Restore previously removed items"

Recommended Posts

Exterminate was very aggressive on a recent scheduled scan. It deleted several EXE files that scanned as threats, but were positively "false positives".

The FAQ for Exterminator states: select "Restore previously removed items" from SOMEWHERE; I cannot find an screen that allows me to restore anything. :geezer:

Can you please link me to that FAQ as it seems to be for the previous version of Exterminate and needs to be updated.

This is the current FAQ for Exterminate: http://www.pcpitstop.com/store/exterminate.asp

Have you tried doing a Windows System Restore? The other option would be to reinstall the .exe's.

Can you please open a ticket at our help desk with the names of the false positives so we can get your information and take a look at your logfile?

I do not think that WINDOWS RESTORE should have to be a solution to a software programs errors! From within Exterminate, we should be able to RESTORE the deleted files.

The above URL does lead to the SAME FAQ I quoted, before: "Yes, Exterminate makes a copy of the files it removes before each cleaning. To restore those files simply open the application and select Restore previously removed items and click next."

I am missing something, here. If that is NOT the latest FAQ, how do you RESTORE from an Exterminate file deletion of FALSE POSITIVES and valid EXE files.

Thanks.

I did submit an email to support and received a ticket number.
