Good question Kenny 3.

I believe this beta which uses the free test has differernt options then the final version. I'm sure there will be options for storing and sharing test results.

The plan is to get this version debugged then go live sometime in late February/March.

After that, the next version will move away from Active X.

@Rob

The two links from the Total Memory Test page both lead to a 'Page not found':

http://pcpitstop.com/betapit/tips/memory.asp

http://pcpitstop.com/betapit/tips/about_memory.asp

And the link to Driver Alert is labeled for Driver Agent on this page:

Seemed to work pretty good. Kept running it, while I took care of X's.

Only things are, it doesn't seem to read "System Restore" correctly, mine are set at

one percent of disk space, and it says its to much. Can't go any lower.

Fragmentation Test not run on either drive.

I have two 80Gig satas in raid 0, dual booting XP/Vista64.

Other then that, looks nice.

You should be able to set it to 0% which actually allocates 200MB's, the minimum amout needed to run System Restore and about enough for three restore points with the average system.

As soon as I go to zero, it ask if I want to stop system restore.

Does the same on my other machine too.

Hey IG.

That worked fine for me. Got the same screen shot you put up. Didn't ask if I wanted to turn it off.

:) Thanks.

RAH did you get it to work?

I really appreciate all the feedback. Keep it coming.

I made quite a few improvements today.

1. Fixed the tip links so that when you click from tip to tip, it does not throw an error.

2. Fixed the problem where the memory pages were not being displayed properly.

3. Fixed a problem the number of tips being displayed in browse.asp.

4. Fixed the bug in hiding tips.

When sending feedback, send me a link. It helps a bunch to actually see the problem. One improvement of OverDrive is you can just take the link from the top of the browser, and paste it.

RAH,

Any chance you are running Vista?

wdeyd,

On the driver problem, your results look very strange. Can you rerun the tests and see whether it persists? If so, can you also run Driver Alert and see whether it gives the same result? I really do appreciate it.

KEEP THE FEEDBACK COMING.

The red x's that show when you fail the test are WAY too big.

It's way too busy for me as well, i feel overwhelmed with the ammount of information in such a small place.

ok, i'm going to install the version of the driver that dell is offering my laptop, then run the scan again.

it's funny that checking Microsoft Update, Driver Alert, (intel and nvidia respectively for wifi and video), and the dell website.... they are ALL offering different driver releases as the most up to date release available.

so which would we chose?! several websites say to stick with the drivers your vendor provides instead of using non-oem drivers....

ok, it seems to like the driver now that i downgraded to an older version

http://pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?conid=19663069

also, the test wouldn't run while i was loged in, i had to log out and run it anonymously. while loged in, clicking scan this system just refreshed the system comparison page.

did you click the ok to run the active x from IE?

Where is that? I'm having the same problem. The tests won't run. It just keeps bouncing me back to the browse systems page.
