Certain sites going slow?

Recommended Posts

Sites like rapidshare, megaupload, myspace, hell even new grounds. The data is transnfering really slow. Like 3-12kbs. Yet other sites that I guess have their own file hosting are going the regular speed. I have dsl. Anybody ever experience something like this. It started like several days ago and I thought it was just one site, but it's more. wth is going on? I've recently d/led sopcast and uusee, and that's the only new things I 've installed recently installed. I ran a full test with avg last night and it found nothing. Help. what could be causing this?

Maybe heavy usage?

This is a frequent occurence here during school holidays.

Yeah but I'm not on a school network and other sites are fine. It doesn't make any sense.

After spending 12 hours trying to d/l a file off of megaupload (which is still going btw) I might have spoken too soon. I forgot to check at work. Is anybody else getting slow speeds from these sites right now? This is crazy. Been happening for a week now. It keep getting the feeling like something else is running and slowing it down. lol Is that even possible?

Sometimes a hard boot of your modem/router will help...turn it off for several minutes and restart ...have you done that?

Soon as this file fineshes d/ling I'll try that. I still need to try and clear the cookies. Nobody else is having this problem?

To fix a corrupted Windows Winsock under Windows XP Service Pack 2, enter the following command at the command prompt:

netsh winsock reset catalog

This will reset the winsock settings back to installation defaults

you could check to see if you have new dot net

removing it might help run your antispyware program

see if it detects new dot net

the problem could that you maybe infected with some sort of malware

you could post a hijackthis log in the hijackthis forum

it might take a few days before you get a response

download and run hijackthis 2.0.2

click scan and save log file

when the log file opens

right click anywhere on page in note pad

select all

in the blue right click

click copy

http://filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/

go to hijackthis forum

and open new topic

paste your hijackthis log in new topic

http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=25

do not respond to your own topic until you are instructed to do so

please be patient...the wait period can be up to 2 or 3 days

GOOD LUCK
