A site like PC Pitstop for MACS?

Recommended Posts

Anyone? Hello? While MACS are pretty troublefree... I'm wondering if it's performance is up to snuff, and if there's any little tweaking I can do to up the ante a bit without having to replace my old Mac Mini.

Thanks.

The only Mac I own is an old Performa, so any tips I have to offer wouldn't be very helpful.

Google is probably going to be your friend in a situation like this.

Would love a diagnostics site like this for us MAC folks. Anyone know of any? Thanks!

Do you mean like "Accelerate Your Mac"?

(P.S. Please don't use all caps to describe your Macintosh. It's a Mac.)

Another site that may be of interest is MacFixIt:

I wouldn't go so far as to say Macs "just work". That's a bit of an overstatement.

Perhaps one should understand what Apple Discussions is … and what it is not.

Apple Discussions is a site hosted by Apple for its users to assist one another with technical issues. Apple, the company (or its representatives), hardly ever address problems there. Once a thread such as that garners a large number of posts, it's not uncommon for it to be locked because there is nothing new being contributed.

If a user is ranting and raving and using bad language, such a post is likely to be removed. Apple's house, Apple's rules. It's not some huge conspiracy.

I thought that a mac was supposed to "just work"? Why on earth would you need to tweak it, if it "just works"?

I have a lot of computers that "just work". That certainly never prevented me from changing the way they work ;)
