Hello forallbueaty

Sorry to keep you waiting.. :)

Copy and Paste this post into a new text document or print it out for reference.

Step 1

Download and use this version of HijackThis 1.99.1 from here and save it to your Desktop.

Double click HJTsetup.exe to begin installation.

By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.

Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.

Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.

Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.

Step 2

Please Download SmitfraudFix by S!Ri from either of these mirrors to your desktop:

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip

http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.zip

Right click SmitfraudFix.zip and Extract (unzip) the SmitfraudFix folder inside to your desktop.

Please Reboot your System into Safe Mode

Shut down your system, then Restart your computer as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. from the menu select the option to enter Safe Mode

Scan with HijackThis again and place a checkmark in the boxes before the following entries:

O21 - SSODL: carbinyl - {8d8c2387-7f80-4022-9be6-43630a969558} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gwquvw.dll (file missing)

Close any Explorer windows which may be open and click the "Fix Checked" button.

Please Hold Down The Windows Key + E to Open Windows Explorer,

Navigate to then Right Click on and Delete this Bold File ( If Found )

C:\WINDOWS\system32\gwquvw.dll

Stay in Safe mode and open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd

Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.

A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Re-scan with HijackThis and post

1/ The new HJT log

2/ The C:\rapport.txt

Thank you.

You must place HiJack this into it's own folder,

If we ever need to restore any Item then this folder will safely store all entries

and enable us to then use the Back-up feature that Hijack This offers

If you download the one from the link I gave you it will install into C:\Program Files\Hijack This

Hi ourwilly

how do you do it seems seeing all the post on the forums that you are keeping busy :(

HJT is installed in its own folder not even in the program files

listen i did the wrong thing i went for the easy solution and download the previxx program that the other guy was talking about it did erase the virus but did a messy job it seems that my pc is slower and my programs are sometimes shuting down by themselves :geezer:

i was on the process to follow your instructions down below and taught better of it i'm sending you a new log that i just did. can you tell me if i should run the steps one by one or is there some new ones to follow thank you for patience

almost forgot when i run my norton internet security full scan it goes by almost all my files then freeze so i have this fix problem message that says full scan not done and also i can't close the damn thing i have to restart my pc

thanks

forallbueaty

Hello forallbueaty

Sorry to keep you waiting.. As it's been a little while I would like to check to see if there's any Malware that's still need to be cleaned up first. Please Copy and Paste this 'Fix' into either Notepad or Wordpad for future reference as you will be required to closed down you browser when following these steps.

Step 1

Scan with HijackThis again and place a checkmark in the boxes before the following entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {67982BB7-0F95-44C5-92DC-E3AF3DC19D6D} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: Protection Bar - {0D045BAA-4BD3-4C94-BE8B-21536BD6BD9F} - C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\iesplugin.dll (file missing)

O21 - SSODL: carbinyl - {8d8c2387-7f80-4022-9be6-43630a969558} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gwquvw.dll (file missing)

Close any Explorer windows which may be open and click the "Fix Checked" button.

Step 2

Once you have done this.. if not already can you please Remove the SmitfraudFix tool that you downloaded earlier in this thread as I would like you to now Download the latest version of SmitfraudFix by S!Ri from either of these mirrors to your desktop:

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip

http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.zip

Right click SmitfraudFix.zip and Extract (unzip) the SmitfraudFix folder inside to your desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click "smitfraudfix.cmd"

Select option #1 - "Search" by typing "1" and press "Enter".

Please copy & paste the SmitfraudFix text file which appears back here please.

Step 3

Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab.

Click the "Delete Cookies" button and then the "Delete Files" button next to it.

When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content",

(You will have to re-enter passwords at websites that require them.)

Click OK

Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin:

Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.

Let it scan your system for files to remove.

Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.

Press OK to remove them.

Now please use Internet Explorer and run The Panda Online Activescan

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button.

A new window will open...click the Check Now button.

Enter your Country.

Enter your State/Province.

Enter your e-mail address and click send.

Select either Home User or Company.

Click the big Scan Now button.

If it wants to install an ActiveX component, allow it to.

It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a minute or two).

When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan.

When the scan completes, click the See Report button, then Save Report, and save it to your desktop.

In your next reply please post:

1/ A new HJT Log

2/ The Online Panda Result's

3/ The SmitfraudFix text file

Thank you.

Hello forallbueaty :D

Please Reboot your System into Safe Mode

Shut down your system, then Restart your computer as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. from the menu select the option to enter Safe Mode

open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd

In your next reply please post the "C:\rapport.txt" a new "HiJackThis" Log and let me know how your system is running

Thank you.

Hello forallbueaty :)

Glad things are running a little better, please now download AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5

The program should launch automatically after installation. If not, double-click the desktop icon.

Deactivate the "Resident Shield" as this may prevent changes to the registry.

To do this, click "Change State" to the right of the Resident Shield option in the main window.

You will clearly see the status change to Inactive if you have done this correctly.

Now Update AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5

click the "Update" icon from the main menu.

Then click the "Start Update" button.

When you receive the "Update successful" prompt, close AVG AS.

Note: If you have any problems with the updater, you can Update AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 Manually.

Do not Scan with this yet!

Please Reboot your System into Safe Mode Shut down your system, then Restart your computer

as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8 from the menu select the option to enter Safe Mode

Reopen AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 and click the "Scanner" icon from the main menu.

Click "Complete System Scan" to start scanning.

When the scan completes, click "Recommended action" beneath the results window and select "Quarantine".

Then click the "Apply all actions" button to quarantine everything detected.

Then click Save report > Save report as and save the AVG Report-Scan.txt to your desktop.

Then Reboot back into Normal Mode

please post the AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 Report-Scan.txt

Thank you.

Hello forallbueaty :)

i'm sending you the report from AVG do you recommand that i buy it and throw out my Norton anti-virus

If you mean the "AVG Anti-Spyware" software then you will still need an Anti-Virus program installed to go along with it.. please note that when the AVG-AS trial ends the real-time feature will be disabled but you will still be able to use it to scan your system.

Please "Disable" and then "Re-Enable" System Restore.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(Windows XP)

1. Turn off System Restore.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.

Click Properties.

Click the System Restore tab.

Check Turn off System Restore.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.

Click Properties.

Click the System Restore tab.

UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

Once you have done that please try running the Norton anti-virus in Safe Mode..

Hope this helps...

Thank you

hey ourwilly :snooze: ,

i did what you asked with the system restore and it didnt worked :pullhair: but it stocked at the same place as before so i taught maybe that if i erase the program where it stopped all the time that maybe it would work and it did  so my norton icon shows that it went trough a whole scan yeah!!! i even made my last attempt in regular mode(not safe mode) :rofl2:

so what do you think i mean what are the results from all the scans we did?

what are the reports telling you? i know its me who should tell you if my pc is running well and it does (i think) rofl

don't you want a final scan of something or is every thing alright ?

i want to tell you how much i appreciated the zeal you put in this and how much effective your work is,

thank you very much

Hello forallbueaty :)

AVG anti-spyware only found two cookies which is fine but It's sound's like you are "Not" too happy with the Norton Anti-Virus

Just remember though you should only have one anti- virus software installed to avoid confliction

so please use "Add/Remove programs" to remove Norton - AV from your system first if you do opt for a change

You can If you wish try the Norton Removal Tool which will uninstall all Norton 2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products from your computer, please use Internet Explorer and Visit >>This Link<<

and here are some links to some free anti-virus products :

AVG Anti-Virus

Avast

Bit Defender

------------------------------------------------

i know its me who should tell you if my pc is running well and it does (i think)

let me know if you still think it does.. and if you wish to post a fresh HijackThis log then please do I'll be more than happy to look at it for you
