  1. 2017-11-24 This month noticed that One very large Windows 7 update is not installing. It attempts to install, restarts the computer, says it is updating computer then says update failed then reverts back. All this installing and reverting back is taking up to a 5 minute wait for it to revert and finally offer me a sign in screen. The primary update which seems to be causing the issue is this - below first line is update name and then other info about it. 2017-11 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4048957) Download size: 203.4 MB You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect. Update type: Important A security issue has been identified in a Microsoft software product that could affect your system. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. For a complete listing of the issues that are included in this update, see the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system. More information: http://support.microsoft.com/help/4048957 Help and Support: http://support.microsoft.com/help/4048957 I need to know how to get this update to install without causing me all this time consuming problem. Also, I have tried going to services.msc and setting PCPitstop realtime to "disabled" then attempting to install and get the same results.

    Forum Feedback

Hello- PC Pitstop is looking at redoing the forums webpage, but we want your feedback before we make too many changes. First, we are discussing minor changes. These would be focused on membership rewards. This would include featuring special forums for members only, and potentially a contest for the best tip shared each month by members. Secondly, we are looking at redoing the layout of the entire page. This would mean still having the Community tab, but also adding a Membership tab. Each tab would then have subcategories, such as: Windows 10 - Support - Tips and Tricks Windows 8 - Support - Tips and Tricks etc. There would also still be the categories for Networks, Viruses, etc. Essentially we want to organize the page to make it more functional. However, we want to be sure this is something the current users agree could be beneficial. Let us know what you think, and what ideas you may have to help make our forums better for our users!

  4. If you are annoyed with the message that you updates will be installed when after you click "Shutdown", this is for you. The simple way to do it is 1.Press Alt+F4 2. Change the pull-down menu from Install Updates and shutdown to shutdown only 3. Click OK Now Windows will shutdown without waiting for the updates to install. things to remember: The steps are not permanent, you need to do it every time updates for Windows are downloaded
