  1. Ok, I rebuilt it and got it up and running. Build: CM Stacker 810 case Antec Quadro 1000W PSU Asus P6T Deluxe MB Intel Core i7 920 2.66ghz CPU 12GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 1333 RAM 2 X 300GB WD Velociraptor HDDs in striped array for OS 2 X 500GB HDDs for data storage
  2. I swore by gigabyte years ago but they went down hill a few years back and I have not touched one since. Someone please tell me that they have improved.
  3. Well, I want to go Core i7 if I am switching boards. How about evga or xfx? Both seem to still have the ich10r southbridge. Do you think that I will have the same raid problems that I have had with the Asus P5Q Deluxe? I want a stable long life board that is a good overclocker.
  4. On the phone with Asus again. For the second time now they say that they have no record of me calling. I am really beginning to hate Asus.
  5. I went back to stock when I started having issues. The port issue with this board did not start until I swaped out my two raptor 150s for 2 velociraptor 300s.
  6. Ok, here's the thing. I currently have a Q9450 on a Asus P5Q Deluxe, 8GB ram, 2 WB Velociraptor 300GB drives in striped array for OS, and two 500GB Seagates set as standalone for data storage. Evertime that I start pushing alot of reads off of the array to one of the 500's the Velociraptor on the second sata port will go into error status. I can set to normal via intel matrix software but is annoying and often locks the machine up. I won't go into detail but I have ruled out the drives, sata cables, and PSU as being the problem. I have gone through 4 of these P5Q Deluxe boards all doing the exact same thing. I have upgraded BIOSs but the problem continues. I have done some extensive tech support with Asus and on our last call, we went through the entire hardware over the phone so that their engineers could duplicate my machine and find out where the problem is. I am half tempted to say to heck with it and upgrade the wifes machine with my parts and rebuild mine again. Ok, I am looking at these parts. Intel Core i7 Quad 920 (2.66ghz) on an Asus P6T Deluxe board. Both the P6T Deluxe and my P5Q Deluxe are running the ich10r southbridge so I have some concerns that the problem may follow me to the new board. Anyone with any thoughts on that? I am also wondering what everyone's OCing experiences may be on the core i7 and this P6T Deluxe board.
  7. I have just fallen in love with this case.
  8. You can do it with a 900 with little to no mods. You can get reservoirs that are as small as 1 X 120. I usually prefer at least 2 X 120. On the 900, I rearrainged some of the screws on one of the front 120 fans and was able to screw one of the fans in to the res. It was mounted vertically of course. I did the same on the rear of a CM stacker but it overhung the board too much so relocated the fans to the outside of the case.
  9. I personally like the silverstone cases. I also like Antec and the CM stacker. As far as water cooling, I have built rigs with danger den components. They make quality water cooling parts.
  10. Ok, I am back to 485 with a CPU of 3.90ghz. I was ok before but then BSODed.
  11. Well, I ramped the ram to 2.20V and the NB to 1.4. I left the SB at auto. The best that I can get to is a 490 which pumps that ram at 990mhz and the CPU is 3.93ghz. I am not sure if I hit the RAM wall or CPU wall.
  12. Well, according to the bios, the normal voltage for the NB is 1.10V and the voltage for the SB is also 1.10V. My options are for NB: Auto 1.10 1.12 1.14 ~ 1.90 Towards the higher end of that it displays a message above the voltage option, "North Bridge needs a better cooling system" My options for SB: Auto 1.10 1.20 1.30 1.40 No cooling system warning message is displayed for the SB.
  13. What voltage is safe on the NB and SB with this P45?
  14. Cooling is Thermaltake V1 http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/444 Temps are 42, 42, 42, 35 at idle.
