  1. The new 3D test resulted in a large grey box covering a large portion of my browser. The tests were completing in the background but the box never went away and the browser locked up afterwards. This required a hard reset/reboot to resolve. Repeated three times with the same results. http://www.pcpitstop.com/betapit/sec.asp?c...;report=Summary
  2. Dave, Thanks for the response. What do I tell my posters like this one http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?i...FN4AWJZEGMS8GC3 Who buys a brand new HP and the just out of the box test gets flagged for the hard drive? Bruce
  3. Dave RE: "The 398 other 2.3GHz AMD Athlons in our database are getting 6.26 on average, your system is getting 2.47" Here's another thought why my system is getting flagged. There are no 2.3 Gig Athlons out there. My CPU is an overclocked 2600XP with a stock speed of 2.08 Gigs. Could it be that the test is classing it with the new Clawhammer 64 bit CPUs and expecting SATA drive speeds? Also Wearylamplighter and Ichap55 say they have brand new HDs (one is 7200 X 8MB) and are getting flagged too. Both are getting OK's from the Manf on their drives. Justa thought. BT P.S. The 'gator has been removed from the endangered species list. (GGG)
  4. Thanks Dave <i>nothing is going to bring an older drive up to par with a newer 7200RPM/8MB drive</i> I knew there was nothing wrong with my drive. May I suggest that instead of flagging fully functional brand new drives because there are some faster models out there that maybe you might place an advisory in the suggested upgrades section. It will make my (and your)work in the forums much easier. TIA BT
  5. Same uncached speed problem This is something new. I run a building and fixing forum and use Pitstop for the initial test to help posters diagnose their problems. As a result, I am a veteran of hundreds of tests and have run dozens of tests on my own machines. This morning I too got the uncached speed notice. I have tested this same machine dozens of times in the past and, after running all the pitStop fixes this morning, I still got the same failing result. http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?i...XC3AWPRF1NSHGC3 I ran Western Digital's diagnosis test and the HD passed with no problems. I then looked at my previous test results for this machine and have Pitstop passing speeds both slower and faster than the current failing speed. Have you changed the standards for passing results? BT
  6. Thanks Dave, I needed to know that. Please lock this thread. BT
