  1. Thanks Drover..very interesting. Got me on the nose, but missed hubby by a mile. He's pretty much the exact opposite of everything it said about him.
  2. 38 year old Cancer here. My hubby is gemini, (June 1, 1966) so is my daughter (June 13, 1986)
  3. We've got a friend who's got one of those for testing purposes. He says the FSB on it is something like 3GHz, and an experimental Asus board that doesn't even have a model number yet.
  4. I decided I'm gonna get a new psu as well, but it'll have to wait til later this week. I have plenty of time to get exactly what I want. Thanks for all the input guys....let's just try to keep the insults out of it. Everybody here has something to add to these forums. How you choose to do it makes all the difference.
  5. Yeah it does kinda bite when ya use one set of drivers for a certain game, but another one for a competition.
  6. Download this program, install it and run it. It will tell you everything about your system, including what kind of ram is in there. Everest Home Edition Well I have both a dvd rom and dvd rw drive in my system, so I guess that answers which one I would leave in.
  7. Well I just placed my order. I didn't get a new psu or ram yet....I'll wait and see if I need it first. This is what I ordered right now, can always order more parts later if needed. AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (socket 939, newcastle core) MSI K8N Neo 2 Plat. mobo nVidia 256mb 6800 Ultra (decided to go with the Ultra Sho, just cuz I could ) Was checkin with my supplier on his prices for vapo's too (just in case ya know). Now if it would just get here... Yeah I know I just ordered it, but I want it NOW!! (That's the female impatience kickin in you see there.)
  8. There ya go moon....nothin like being able to drag it through the airport...
  9. You won't need another burner when you put the dvd burner in there because it'll burn both cd's and dvd's. It's your choice. You don't say what kind of ram you have in your system now...just what you're wanting to buy. And I highly doubt you'll be able to overclock your cpu any, if at all, because of it's proprietary nature. HP's don't take kindly to that, and frankly the wimpy power supplies they come with wouldn't hold up anyway. Your best bet would be to build your own and get away from the pre-built systems if you can.
  10. Did I miss something or were those the wrong drivers? 6702??
  11. Nah, XC, I dunno why so many folks make such a big deal out of the noise. It never bothers me. My system right now kinda sounds like a jet taking off and it doesn't bother me a bit, even with 3 systems right here in the same room.
  12. Ok, I used that psu calculator, and with all the crap I'm putting in the new system, it suggests a minimum of 415 watts. I'm lookin at newegg to see what they got..here's some I like. Opinions plz?? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-167-010&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-153-015&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-148-014&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-101-205&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-478&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-922&depa=0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-489&depa=0
  13. Cool. Thanks. Was wondering if that would be enough to power that 6800GT tho???
  14. Kinda sorta, but not exactly. See my description above your post.
