  1. OK,i am @ a loss?I just purchased Tiger Woods 2008 and a wireless xbox 360 game controller for Windows. When i push the center button on the controller the battery Status comes up and says it is full, but when i go into the game i cant move the cursor, none of the buttons do anything, etc.?The Tiger Woods game says supported gamepads "Microsoft Xbox 360 controller for windows"along with 2 logitech gamepads.Mine is the wireless edition but i wouldn't think that matters. What gives and this is my first controller i have owned and not sure if maybe i am doing something wrong, compatibility issue or failed controller? Thanks in advance.
  2. Am trying to complete the installation of my new maximus formula,e8400 and 1066 ddr2 ram.Problem is that i am using the supreme fx2 sound card that comes with the maximus(instead of my audigy2 zs)so i can hook up my thermaltake tsunami dreams front audio ports.I have them hooked up per the specs of http://www.frontx.com/info/au_1gpin.html .The Soundmax software that comes with the card is pretty rinkydink.Everything works ok for the most part when connected in the back, except having to run setup wizard every time u make any adjustment in Soundmax software because of losing microphone functionality? If anyone has the soundmax software they will know about the Audiowizard setup. My real issue though is my front panel headphone and mic ports. The Headphones work fine, but the Mic doesnt, wierd thing is in audio wizard under the mic setup, the sound meter doesnt move if i scream into the mic,but i can turn the music up in my headphones and the sound meter moves? What up wit Tat?Dont think its wired wrong, done triple checked it to the diagram(all my terminals are separate off of front port connectors)Anyway hope some audio guru may be able to explain to me whats going on?Thanks
  3. I know someone has some idea?Anyone?
  4. Just read an article about how the s3 mode only uses about 5 watts of power when utilized compared to the s1 mode which uses significantly more,as well as shut the system fans down which will help keep my pc cleaner as a have a few fans.Have s3 enabled in bios along with acpi support and acpi 2.0 support. The problem is that the system goes into s3 mode but i cant get it to come out unless i push the power button, and it resumes normally @ that point.I read something somewhere that u had to go into device manager, mouse properties and check the box in the power management tab that says allow this device to bring the pc out of standby, problem is i dont seem to have the power management tab?I have general, driver and details tabs only. Also in device manager i show HID keyboard device when i have a Logitech G15,and i show a Logitech HID-compliant mouse when i have a G7 logitech?I installed the software that came with the mouse and keyboard and there is no specific driver that i have found other than the setpoint software that allows u to enable the certain features of the hardware.I would reallly like to keep s3 enabled as i have read it could end up saving some pretty nice change @ the end of the month.Just want to be able to click my mouse or hit a key on my keyboard to be able to wake it up.Any help would be greatly appreciated.I have an Asus P5ad2 premium mobo,Logitech G15 keyboard and a G7 mouse. Thanks again.
  5. As far as a free AV,I would go with Avast.I pay for Kaspersky internet suite and am very happy with it.It updates several times a day,has parental controls, firewall,Spyware control and is not a system hog like Norton and Mcafee. Also Is fully compatible with Windows Vista if u have it.
  6. I could easily talk him out of the intel im sure if u think an amd might be better?Just read reviews that the intel has beaten out amd since the dual cores have been out.Heard in the past that amd was better for gamers, but not sure if thats still the case?Havent built a pc in about 2 years, since i built my last one,and definitely dont want to build his and him have constant crashes. If u have a recommendation for amd,id be happy to hear it.
  7. My parents asked me to build them a new pc.I myself had been looking around for myself for a mobo/cpu upgrade and debated on purchasing the evga 680i mobo for my parents as well.Heard of issues with that chipset and that it was mainly designed for overclockers and enthusiasts .So now i am debating on what chipset/mobo to go with for them.I know i will be putting a core duo 6600 in it.My Dad wants to be able to do video and photo editing and my mom wants to do some gaming(Nancy Drew and such,LoL.)My Dad also sings a bit and wants to be able to record to the pc ,edit it and burn to cd.I want something that will take a quad in the future.I would prefer that it was sli compatible but not a necessity.I mainly want a solid, stable chipset where he will not have system crashes, etc.I would appreciate any input i could get on this topic. Thanks in advance.
  8. lol ps,ones my work laptop,2 is my desktop and the 3rd one was my parents pc,i want bother u anymore.......................for now it started w my parents pc ,then the curious cat i am had to wonder about my laptop and desktop.Even though i had to give up on my parents pc for now(cause my nerves couldnt take tring to walk him through over the phone),i sure appreciate the help u have given . and ps,Be good,or be bad and just be careful.See ya next time.
