You may have a LAN address problem caused by DHCP when a PC is rebooted and another PC is off. I have an HP printer connected to router via ethernet and to avoid any address conflict via DHCP on my Belkin router, I have changed the DHCP assigned range to 192.168.2.6 to 100 and keep 192.168.2.1 to 5 for the router and printer etc. Note that my firewall has local zone set to 192.168.2.1 to 100 to allow access to all on LAN. Try assigning a fixed address to your printer, say 192.168.0.20; should be possible to do this via printer interface.

I think you should try reformat and reinstall WinXp but with HT enabled in bios first. Info is from you "About a month ago I had to reformat and reinstall windows. I had HT turned off on the mboard at the time."

Obvious answer to your problem is the wireless card has failed. Get a suitable USB one, a Linksys one would be best to match router. Maybe you can replace the card in laptop?

You can try converting PDF to jpg using app from here: http://www.pdf-to-jpg.com/ and then convert jpg to black+white.

Trying To Setup Linksys Router Internet Connection
roleo replied to Iconoclast's topic in User to User Help
More on my suggestion Iconoclast. The "internet link through wall" via ethernet works when connected directly to you PC's ethernet card; therefore it is not a modem type signal and can be shared via the router's ethernet ports. To do this it must be plugged into one of the 4 ethernet ports on router to share it. There are 4 ports on router, connect your PC to port 1 and "internet link through wall" to port 2 and see what happens. Since you know how to access router setup, you may have to disable DHCP as well. -
Trying To Setup Linksys Router Internet Connection

Try connecting internet cable to one of the ethernet ports on router. You may need to disable the modem on router and also DHCP as well. -
Home Network Strain
roleo replied to tripper11's topic in Networking, Email, and Internet Connections
The problem is not your LAN. You need to upgrade your WAN provided by your service provider to give you greater bandwidth; unfortunately this costs more money. -
Surely it's worth paying $20 for cirond winc to sort your problem.

Is my desktop wireless capable
roleo replied to badbadputer's topic in Networking, Email, and Internet Connections
Agere Systems Soft Modem is a software modem and is not wireless at all. I assume you will be using a wireless router and you will have to get a USB WiFi card to match. -
wireless laptop finds router but wont connect to web
roleo replied to pete_c's topic in Networking, Email, and Internet Connections
Are you sure that you're connecting to your router?. If it's your's, then can laptop connect to router using 192.168.2.1 or whatever router address is in IE? If not then you need to add the network again using wireless network connection properties. My HP laptop has a blue wireless indicator light which is just to indicate that it's active. -
Need Assistance setting up wired + wireless network
roleo replied to Pilgrim's topic in Networking, Email, and Internet Connections
As I understand it, your setup, before getting the router, was an ethernet connection from desktop to modem. With the router, you must connect the modem to the router and the desktop via ethernet to the router. the router will then share your modem connection between the laptop and desktop.
