    ugh

the case wires that attach to the motherboard with gnd usb etc, the hdd has been tested with seatools and says working fine so ill assume its correct , im just not sure the wires are in the right place seeing as 1 time i put 1 together the case fan would start up but then cut out
  5. kingleigh

    ugh

k so it doesnt matter then if a wire is facing a certain way, but why the flicking into standby mode that i dont get , if it is a software issue i dont think it is but what can i do to check? was fresh install on new drive then i copied stuff off old drives onto it prolly right on the mounting it aint screwed onto case far as i remember
  6. kingleigh

    ugh

im not quite sure what plugs your on about (the 1s to the drives id guess ), maybe i werent clear the case wiring to the motherboard , now if u have 1 wire that can be faced in 4 different directions itll cause a problem wont it? ran diagnostic seatools it says my disk drive is fine anyway i also found the driver for the keyboard its stopped doing the 8'8'8'8 thing but still flicks into standby
  7. kingleigh

    ugh

was kind of referring to the power and usb stuff for being wired wrong not the drive , ran a virus scan all seems fine will check seagate for utilities ?
  8. kingleigh

    ugh

well whats next step here , the drive is brand new so shouldnt really be infected , power options havent been touched apart from setting everything to not turn off or go into standby (it is possible ive wired it up wrong)
  9. kingleigh

    ugh

well tested it on a laptop and it works fine but thats vista and not xp , surprised no answers
  10. kingleigh

    ugh

more problems on my pc yipee, 1st of all when using a usb keyboard it will keep going '8'8'8'8'8'8'8'8'8 and so on dont know what the trouble is there, then itll kick it into standby mode randomly tho i think all the power options are set to not go off unless its something in bios? if i have a poor power supply would that also cause my hard drive to make horrible grinding noises? seems a lil odd with the purchase of 2 new sata drives it makes so much noise n doesnt sound good

    2 satas problem

i already said hows it gonna show up if it cuts out my pc?
  12. kingleigh

    2 satas problem

the drives not working its going back "sigh"

    2 satas problem

well i cant do that if it dont boot and i dont think im trying to run raid i aint set anything in particular the boot order is os drive floppy then dvd and search others is on, oh and all 3 fans it cuts out the entire pc answer to the other question its an athlon 64 and ecs gs7610 with a win power atx 550w drive, a liteon dvd rewriter ,generic cd rom drive (currently not working either)not recognised, generic floppy drive all ide, 2 x 500gb sata hdd , 2 x 1gb pc3200 ram , i think thats sufficient enough , 1 of the connectors is a bit tight the pins not quite right , and it was taken out of a system before so maybe its a lil dodgy, just to add to this i had no problem with an ide drive
  14. kingleigh

    2 satas problem

well seeing as my old drives kinda didnt want to work i got a couple of new sata 500gb seagate 7200 rpm drives, now one has the os on now all dandy , but when i plug in the other my fan starts up then cuts out i "think" ive tried all the possible power cords on it and nothing
  15. kingleigh

    pc constant reboot /

fresh install xp home on the sata then i want to copy the ide drive to it , remove , then copy over to a second sata drive, or if its possible to install os on 1 sata drive have the ide drive and also second sata in n just copy ide to the second rather than 1st then 2nd? if that makes any sense
