  1. Can the shredder on Spybot be used for shredding docs? I know it shreds stubborn programmes, but I've only used it once some time ago.
  2. Yes, I realise that. In fact, it's not easy to find a site that hasn't got errors. It's just that when I put my link on a forum, someone came up and showed me that I had errors, and I was grateful inasmuch as I have now got an error-free site. I now do error checks on the hoof. A lot easier than finding out after you have put it on the net.
  3. I like it, but................... http://tinyurl.com/d8gf2
  4. Bruce. Nice site, like it. Just a couple of points. Firstly, you need to type in the remaining bracket after Personal Video Recorders in the Myth TV section. Secondly, I spent many years in the printing industry and it is an accepted fact that light characters on a dark background can be hard on the eyes. Just try reading a newspaper ad. printed using this format, and you'll see what I mean. This type of presentation is not as successful as the conventional black on white, which is why it is rarely used in advertising. Otherwise, wish you lots of success Should have mine up and running within a couple of weeks.
  5. I agree with Brandon. Download Thunderbird, and while you're at it, Firefox browser as well.
  6. Stuff AVG. After I read this, http://tinyurl.com/54qv6 I went over to PC_Cillin. This is a direct link to the report http://tinyurl.com/6xb47
  7. Hi, Bill. Can't recall how long I have been using Winpatrol, now, but I would recommend it to anybody. A first-class programme.
  8. Thanks for the info, Ronbo. I was running version 1.2. After upgrading, Spybot found another half-dozen spyware items Jacee. I finished up with Gator the last time I installed Easyshare. Thanks for the input and help. d0nut
  9. I downloaded Kodak Easyshare in order to have some online photo printing done. I then noticed that there was a heavy drain on my RAM (I run Freeram XP) so ran a Spybot check. Sixty, yes 60, BackWeb items in my registry. Needless to say, I got rid of them. No longer have to keep freeing up RAM every 2 minutes So much for Kodak's friendly image.
  10. Hi, Julie. Dad here. Looks like Nero problems run in the family See you later. dad
  11. Volt. My deepest sympathy. I am dreadfully sorry to hear of your untimely loss. God bless and comfort you and your family. d0nut
  12. Y-kawika. Just had a look at the 'Editing hosts' page. Absolutely fascinating. Thanks. d0nut
  13. Thanks for the input, John. Just wish I'd been born a genius instead of so damned good looking........er, and modest of course
  14. Problem solved! I unticked the read only boxes in the program. Works OK Thanks again, everyone d0nut
  15. Let me go over exactly what I did. Might help I opened Crossword Cracker as usual, and ZA came up and asked did I want to give permission for it to access the Net. I ticked the 'No' box, forgetting that for some of the functions the program has to be online. C.C then shut down and when I attempted to open it again, all I got was the runtime error 75. This is what I posted earlier: RUNTIME ERROR 75: "Run-time error 75: path/file access error." This error occurs when a program is installed on a network and the user does not have rights to the program directory. For the program to work properly on a network, users must be given rights by the network administrator. When I checked, my PC was set as 'network'. I reset it as 'desktop' and rebooted, but still the same problem. The answer, I think, lies somewhere in the administrator bit, but I know nothing about networking. Hope this helps, and thanks for your time, guys. d0nut
  16. Cutloop. When I right click on icon, I get this menu. Engage internet lock Stop all internet activity About Buy Restore Control Center Shutdown ZA _________________ No applications
  17. Cutloop. Have already done that. Nice ticks in all the boxes. Despair.
  18. Cutloop. When I right-click, there is no 'Applications' facility shown.
  19. Remo. I must have a different version to you. Mine is free, but has no 'Option' tab or button. I tried it with ZA uninstalled, but it still didn't work. However, the reason I blame ZA was that everything was OK until I clicked the 'No' button. After that, it didn't work. Have to leave, now. Be back in about 12 hours. Many thanks. d0nut
  20. Does this help? I copied it from a web page. RUNTIME ERROR 75: "Run-time error 75: path/file access error." This error occurs when a program is installed on a network and the user does not have rights to the program directory. For the program to work properly on a network, users must be given rights by the network administrator. When I checked, my PC was set as 'network'. I reset it as 'desktop' and rebooted, but still the same problem. d0nut
  21. Thanks to both of you. Remo. I have already done what you said, but to no avail. Can't understand it. d0nut
  22. I recently switched from Black Ice to ZA (ver. 4.5 ) and have been OK until today. I accidentally clicked 'No' for internet access on a program and now all I get when I try to open it is 'Run-time error '75' Path/file access error. I have tried everything, including reinstalling ZA, but the program (Crossword Cracker) won't work. There is nothing relevant on the ZA Instant Help forum. Anybody out there can help, please? d0nut
  23. Thanks, bear (again!) Is the splitter inserted on the output side of the modem, or do I need two modems?
  24. Is it possible to run two PCs at the same time from one cable outlet?
