  1. Crap, i just re read that. I reinstalled netframework 2.0. Now fot the old restart dance for a while.
  2. Ok, so uninstall .NET framework V1.0 and all before V 2 you are saying? Will give it a go .
  3. Should i have the service pack for .NETframework installed? Or should i remove .NET framework version 1 before installing number 2? Thanks EDIT I can't even test my PC at the main site. Both firefox and IE crashhalf way through.
  4. Well, i was wrong. .EXE errors are still happening. I noticed one download at MS for .NETframework, didn't take, so i repaired the original and then redownloaded the other update. Apparently it is a problem for lots of us. I then reinstalled my ATI drivers. Same crap. As stated above, it worked last night when i first did it. But after sitting a day, it is bugged. Firefox won't launch now, and maybe some other Applications .
  5. Burned out my Old Geforce 4 card 2 weeks ago. My system: 2001 compac deskpro Pent IV 1.7, 1 gig ram. 265 watt PS. Windows 2000 AGP 4 I searched around, and finally ordered a Power color Ati radean 9600 pro. It requires that i install .NET framework 2.0. After install and Finding proper drviers for Win 2000, my system was working ok, not how it was working before( i saw an .EXE error message at startup) I set up the card and played a game for 30 minutes, Shut down and went to sleep. On the next startup, i have a few .exe messages. .NET framework updates itself form MS. Now i am getting more messages, right from startup. Sometimes i need to reboot to get my desktop (1st boot of the day) Internet Explorer will not work, nor will the settings menu. Pretty much when i hit an application/shortcut icon, an error message comes up saying the specified .EXE failed and to click ok to cancel the applcation. Firefox works, though not as it should. And it will get the same .EXE errors.
  6. Ok, i did everything, except i couldn't get the Panda scan to download. I think along the way i deleted a file for my desktop or somewhere in WINNT which might have been a mistake. So i am just reformatting that drive. But i am applying the internet security settings with the link you have provided and now i do have a firewall and anti virus. My ISP provides them both, so i now take advantage of it. Thanks much for your time, energy and expertise Crunchie. Marc
  7. Ok, here is what the Housecall window says after it shuts down. Clean failed: TROJ IESER.A
  8. Well, here is the latest HJT log. Before i post it though, here is something i would like to point out. Every time i try to run housecall at the Trendmicro site, it will nor woork. It states that some kind of trojan was detected and not cleanable. Will try aagain and get the name if possible. 11. Well, i have 2 virus scanners going, (PC cillin and Etrust EZ virus. ) Cleaned my system and the crap keeps resetting. Housecall will not tun, that is why i DLed PC cillin. it can't seem to clear out all trojans. Can i just reformat and make a copy of my back up HD? I quite frankly don't have the time, or patience for this.
  12. That was the whole logfile i received. Thanks , Marc
