    That is a ploy to get the victim to pull out another card for the malware to steal. Not just kids, I ask my customers if the knew that downloading copyrighted music was illegal and the tell me they paid for the Limewire program. I have to explain that they paid money to download (steal) infected music. And now they are paying me to fix the mess.
  3. Time Warner here does this already. The first time they will accept the customers word it was fixed, The next time they make customers seek professional help and fax in a receipt showing it is clean again. 3 this month already $$$

  6. You can use this cleanup utility to rid yourself of .net. and then try a reinstall. http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/1...r-cleanup-tool/ I have used it with sucess.
  7. Be aware it has the NVIDIA chipset and I have seen 3 dead ones and HP wont fix under their NVIDIA warranty.

  11. Thanks for the kudos, I have tools to do that(because of my job)but there not free. This CD http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ is a good free tool. If your computers Ram and Hard drive pass their tests you should be ok. The rest of the tests OC/stability ect are run in Windows.
