  1. Cloud backup question

I recently purchased a new PC and went through the process of transferring (restoring) my files from Carbonite cloud backup. It was a very large transfer. Once it was complete, there were over 800 individual files on my desktop. Some of these were pics, etc. that I hadn't used in years. On my old PC, they were all organized into folders, and many folders were stored under one major folder, i.e. subfolders in a big folder. This is how I expected them to be restored. Carbonite tech support insists that the 853 individual files on my desktop were all pulled out of their original folders and placed on the desktop by me at some time in the past 30 days, which is the time span they use before files are deleted. This is absolutely not true. It took a great deal of time to sort through the mess and clean up the desktop, moving files back to their proper folders. My question is why this happened? Is this typical of any restoration? Carbonite tech support set up the restore for me after the first attempt was unsuccessful, and I specified that I wanted the files restored exactly as they appeared on my old PC. Am I missing something here?
  2. Desktop display distorted

    No, it's still the same.
  3. Desktop display distorted

I have an HP Pavilion running Windows 10. My desktop and browsers (all of them) have suddenly started displaying as if the screen resolution is set to huge. I have tried everything I can think of to correct this. I have checked that the screen resolution is set to "recommended," I've set and reset the icon sizes, I've used the zoom function on the browser - nothing makes any difference. It looks as if someone picked up the display and stretched it across the screen. I have checked the driver update for the graphics card. My system setting says I have ATI Radeon HD 4200. When checking this in device manager, properties, the General tab says "No drivers are installed for this device." The Driver tab says no drivers are required or installed for this device. I've run the driver update tool and it comes back as the most recent driver is installed. I've deleted the Radeon device and reinstalled. I've rebooted many times. All Windows updates have been installed. I'm at a loss of anything else to try. I'm not familiar with graphics cards - could mine be going bad? Also, there is no specific "function" key on my keyboard, just the F1-F12. Any help is appreciated.
  4. Malware on Firefox

I am running the latest version of Firefox. I continually get a pop-up that pretends to be from Microsoft, saying "your computer has been blocked. Your computer has alerted us that it has been infected with a virus and spyware...." The link is getyourdesktopfixed.site I only get this with Firefox and no other browsers. I have run Norton as well as Malwarebytes and neither catches anything. Any suggestions?

All done. Thank you so much for all your help - it was great to work with you.
  6. Help Needed, Logs Attached

I ran the uninstaller, removed Java, reinstalled it, ran CCleaner again, rebooted. It seemed to boot up a little quicker this time. I don't see any other issues

Carbonite backs up on an ongoing basis, as files are created, rather than at a set time as far as I know. I will look for the back up. Here's the scan from OTM, and I'll run the Security Check. I use Carbonite to back up, but I didn't know it kept any files on the hard drive. I haven't restored since I've had this computer. It may be tomorrow before I can do the scans - kids just got home from Germany!

I ran the analysis scan but am having trouble finding the log. I don't see anything with that file name or anything close. Is it supposed to be accessed from the removal tool? I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for - it wasn't a zip file. Yes, it shows 49%. I tried to post a screen shot but says I'm not allowed to do that. I'm thinking it may be stuck.
